AND SHE WROTE 🌅: If you’re reading this, there’s something I know for sure…that there is a former version of yourself that would be so proud of the things you’ve pushed through and overcome. The ways you’ve grown. The things you’ve learned. How you haven’t given up on those areas that feel so dry, so hopeless. Somehow - you haven’t lost hope. Take a moment and just sit in that truth. I’m going to do the same…
I sat my phone down to sit with you in that truth…and my intention was to come back and share about second chances. We all get them. The moment after we realize something we don’t like, or what we did…there’s a second chance and we get one…okay, so I’m sitting here and a woman near me is complaining to her friend about issues at her job. And it’s got me thinking…
if we’re complaining, there’s some privilege attached to it…you can’t complain about a job you don’t have. You can’t complain about relationships without having them. You can’t even complain without having breath - so at the base of it all, there’s a privilege.
I’m not sitting here judging this woman (okay maybe I am..Lord forgive me) but when we hear others, if we listen hard enough we can hear ourselves. The times I’m inside a situation complaining but actually living the very life my former self would have been blown away by…
I don’t know…this feels a little all over the place - but take from any of it what you will, and let’s all celebrate our imperfect selves today that would make our former selves proud. And all the areas that doesn’t ring true…well, here’s to second chances! 🥂
Rebecca, Spot On! Second chances are gifts we're able to gift ourselves! Gratitude is at the heart of it... gratitude! I'm thankful for you!
