Two things I absolutely LOVE - the first of the month and Valentine’s Day. That makes today, February the FIRST, super special to me because it is the beginning of what my family calls LOVE MONTH. The picture above is our house a couple years ago and admittedly I did go a little over the top that year, but our theme was literally “Our Love for You [our kids] is Over the Top.”
February Challenge!
CHALLENGE: In honor of the first of February and a holiday/month that I love - I want to issue a little challenge to you. It can be as simple or involved as you want it to be - but simply SPREAD LOVE this month! Here are a few ideas for how you could do that, or feel free to come up with some on your own:
Pick one person to love on the entire month. You could spend some time in prayer asking the Lord if there is one person who could use extra love this month!
Make it your goal to choose one way, each day to spread love - through a compliment, a text, a smile, a hug, or even a gift if you wanted.
Choose one person a day to send a text to and tell them what you love about them every day through Valentine’s, or the end of the month.
Ask a person special to you out to coffee or lunch and give them a card sharing why they are important to you.
These are just some ideas to get your creative juices flowing, but I have no doubt that you can come up with something that fits your personality perfectly and could make someone else’s day!
If Valentine’s has been a touchy subject for you in the past or even something you just flat out have never liked or participated in - consider giving it a second chance, and maybe a second look from a new perspective. Hearts are a little more tender this month with so many people searching for love (or maybe just more aware of their need for it) - why not take the opportunity to be a person who makes them feel loved?
Cheers to the first of months and love!
*I would love to hear how this challenge goes if you decide to participate!!
Life is all about love, if we become aware of it. You are a wonderful reminder of this! As you share love also be an open receptacle to us loving on you! 💕
I have made a graphic on Canva that I’m texting to my kids with reasons why I love them everyday. When they were all younger, and at home, I have put hearts on their doors with reasons I love them. Usually I do 14, one for each day until Valentine’s! Just another idea if you have kids 😊
